The mission of the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association is:

a) to provide high quality, pro bono legal services in a broad range of civil matters to eligible residents of the greater Boston area, including "Metro-West;"

b) to engage and support the efforts of the private bar in providing pro bono legal services in civil matters; and

c) to engage in constructive collaboration with other legal services organizations.

In pursuing its mission, VLP strives:

• to promote diversity in the delivery of legal services, ensuring inclusion and equal opportunity for all;

• to create and maintain a diverse board and staff that reflect the diversity of its service area and the client community;

• to foster a collegial work environment with staff and board members who are supportive and respectful of each other; and

• to foster constructive collaborations with other legal services providers in the service area.
