Women's Economic Independence Project
VLP has begun to expand our practice to represent spouses in long term marriages, where there is a great disparity in income and earning capacity. Our client is generally the spouse who stayed home, took care of the children and the home, and is now too old or sick to obtain marketable skills and be self-supporting. The opposing spouse is usually still working, earns good money and has health insurance. There is sometimes a house and/or pension to divide. All of our family law work focuses on economic empowerment. For further information on this project, please contact jcrockett@vlpnet.org
